XTERRA O.W.S. Challenge

 

The XTERRA O.W.S. Challenge, takes place every year on November at a magnificent gulf of Athens, the jewel of the Athenian Riviera. This year we will welcome all athletes in the Varkiza Bay (Yabanaki)!

 

XTERRA Greece since 2013, has turned to be one of the most iconic swim locations of the XTERRA World Tour, into it’s country’s unique open water Swim Challenge

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR ALL

 

The open water swim race includes three distances, 5000m, 2500m and 1000m, giving the opportunity to athletes of all ages and categories to test their abilities, have fun and enjoy their participation in a well organized and safe event by XTERRA Greece.

Attention: By signing up, I authorize the organizer (and RaceFinder.gr who handles registrations) to keep the information I submit in order to use it for the purposes of the event. At the same time, I give my consent to the organizer use photos and videos of the event at his discretion. Finally, I declare responsibly that my participation in the event is solely my responsibility, knowing the risk of these sports.

Open Water Swim Race 5000m, 2500 & 1000m

 

Race Information:

The swim race start for all distances will be in the water, in front of beach.

 

 

The finish will be out of the water in a specially formed arch.

 

Participation Requirements:

 

Athletes over 18 years, in good physical condition, can participate at the event. Those under 18 years are allowed to participate only in the 1000m short distance race, subject to submission of written permission from their parents/guardians.

 

Regulations:

 

Athletes are allowed to use swim goggles or masks and wetsuits. Use of any other equipment like snorkels, fins, boards etc is prohibited.

 

The awards ceremony for all swim races will take place at the finishing line.

Entry Application:

 

 

Entry Fee: 25,- Euro (until 21 Oct) – Children race: Free (until 21 Oct)

Groups (25 persons or more): €18,- | Late entry €28,-

Late Entry Fee: 35,- Euro (until 31 Oct)  – Children race: €15,0 (until 31 Oct)

Registrations concluded after the 21st of October, may not receive the full athletes kit!

 

From 1st of November and the day of the race: 50 Euro

All Saturday side races, are free of charge and registration can be done at the same day at the registrations’ office

 

The entry fee includes: swim cap, finisher medal, finisher technical t-shirt, timing and start numbers, nutrition on course, recovery F&B area, medical support on race day, all logistical costs and technical services.

 

All athletes should upload either their medical certificate or their valid athlete’s card.

Other Information

 

Timing: electronic timing will be available for all distances and categories. Athletes should place the timing chip on their angle and are obligated to return it to the organizers after they cross the finish line.

 

Medical Support/ Lifeguards: A doctor will be present during the race. Athletes participate at their own risk and are obligated to sign the application and health declaration document. During the races an adequate number of lifeguards will be placed along the course to guarantee safety and assistance.

 

Aid Station: Aid Station will be available at the finish line with water, Isotonic drink & fruits.

 

Regulations: Athletes are allowed to use swim goggles or masks, swim suits or wetsuits. Use of any other equipment like snorkels, fins, boards etc is prohibited.

 

Awards: All athletes will receive a finisher medal and a memorable t-shirt. The first three finishers of each Age group will be awarded at the Awards Ceremony.
